Open Heavens for teens 17 March 2019 Message
As a teenager, you are under your parent’s care. You are their responsibility, hence, your parents will often give you instructions on how to live your life. They will tell you where to go and who to be friends with. They will teach you to make the right choices. They will compel you to go to church, serve God and have good grades in school. They sometimes will even resort to hard measures to make sure that you don’t go the wrong way. They will teach you as much as they can because they know that one day, you will leave the house and be on your own. They want you to be able to make the right choices when that time comes.
If you are wise, you will never forget or neglect the teachings of your parents notwithstanding the situation you find yourself. Some teenagers look forward to when they will go to the university, so that they can live on their own terms and put aside their parents’ teachings. A child who forgets his or her parents’ teaching is like a dog who ignores the sound of its owner’s whistle. Sooner than later, that dog will be lost and become an easy prey for wild animals.
Open Heavens for teens 17 March 2019 Key Points
Hold dear the teachings of your parents. Never forget them.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Trust and obey, for theres no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.
4. But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
AUTHORS: Pastor E.A. Adeboye and Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye.
As we look unto the year spiritual maturity is important, that is why Pastor Adeboye also gave a piece of important advice as touching the open heavens devotional. Some people are so entangled in other activities that they simply skim through the texts every time. Well, it won’t help you that much. According to the Man of God, when a person just reads it, the person “skim the surface”. But when they study, they will “discover the treasure”.
